Best Graphics Card Under $400

This is a brief description of what is happening on the market now. There are many Graphics Card on sale, but nothing to buy. Strange situation. I already wrote that I would not mind buying a GeForce RTX 2070 Super Graphics Card, but the price for it is frankly overpriced. Anything that costs less does not interest me. But I am a separate case. Let’s talk about the average consumer who chooses a card for their needs. At the same time, we will assess whether it makes sense now to take a video card at all.

Best Graphics Card Under $400

Graphics Card under $150

everything is very tight in this category. Of all the candidates, I would single out the Radeon RX 570 with 4GB of RAM and the GeForce GTX 1650 with the same 4GB of RAM. Both cards do an excellent job of playing games at medium graphics settings at 1080p. As for the lower resolutions, they will pull all games at 720p for several years. For an unassuming player, it will do. But I argue that it is worth waiting only three months and for this amount it will be possible to grab a much more productive card. This means that the more interesting model GeForce GTX 1650 Super will already start selling below $ 150. But this is a 10-15% boost literally from scratch. I am not suggesting waiting a year or more. But, competition in the lower price segment will force both companies to lower the prices of their video cards for $ 170-180 below the $ 150 mark. You need to be patient a little.

Graphics Card under $150

Graphics Card under $ 200.

The new Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics card has recently been released. To say that she is disappointing is to say nothing. Probably, the manufacturer will soon lower the price on it, but even then it will not be interesting. In the same segment, the RX 590 continues to play, which has long been in need of replacement. On the green side, it’s the same GTX 1650 Super. Those who are going to buy a card from this price segment can count on a reduction in the price of the GTX 1660 Super, which will inevitably fall in price before the release of the Radeon RX 5600 XT . But when this will happen, the big question is. As you can see, this is one of the most sluggish segments in which manufacturers are in no hurry to drop prices.

Graphics Card under $ 200-250

those aiming at this price point will have to settle for just a GTX 1660 Super with 6GB of RAM. It’s a pretty bouncy card. But, you must admit, when you buy a card for almost $ 250, you expect more from it than just high graphics settings in 1080p resolution. It seems to me that all of the current generation of Nvidia graphics cards are being sold at an inflated price. The red price of this card is around $ 199 in free access, and not $ 250, for which our retailers sell it. AMD is empty at this price point. The Radeon RX 5600 XT is preparing for release, which, unfortunately, will take place between $ 250 and $ 300, however, it will inevitably reduce the price of the RTX 2060, which will drop below $ 300. I believe that this will lead to a reduction in the cost of the Radeon RX 5600 XT, which I would advise you to take in this price category.

Graphics Card under $300-400 dollars.

I see no point in splitting this category into two smaller ones. Most of those who buy video cards under $ 200 play online games in which such power is enough for the eyes. Those who choose better options rely on high fps in completely different projects. That is why I do not propose to exchange for the Radeon RX 5700, stopping at its older version with the XT prefix. On the green side, we only have the RTX 1660 Super. Radeon is clearly more powerful, it is able to compete with graphics cards from another division. But it has no rays and no Nvidia nameplate. It seems to me that those who plan to take a card up to $ 400 will have to wait the longest. Only the next generation of Nvidia or a scattering of TOP video cards from AMD will be able to reduce prices for more productive solutions. Alas, both sides remain silent. When this lucky day will happen, nobody knows. But I see no point in taking the frankly weak RTX 1660 Super and Radeon RX 5700 XT without beams for $ 350-400. In a year, game developers will start churning out ray-traced games for a new generation of consoles. It will be rather unpleasant to be left with your expensive video card outside the world progress.

Graphics Card Above $ 400.

Until AMD comes into this price segment with a good performing video card, you should not expect discounts from Nvidia. If you have $ 500 for a graphics card, buy it. If there is, but you, like me, do not want to overpay for the green markup – wait. There have been various rumors lately. Who knows what will happen in the spring-summer of 2020, when several major announcements are expected.

Well, as you can see, the situation has developed in such a way that you can take a card, but the market froze in anticipation of new heroes. As soon as they appear, prices will go down. Now I propose to wait calmly, if Grandfather Frost or Snow Maiden does not drive you in the back.
